Synthetic bristle paint brushes are soft enough for watercolour and ink but stiff enough for acrylics (oil paint use is also possible if you use solvent to clean your paintbrush, as opposed to water). In this paintbrush set, flat and chisel tip paint brushes are included for a range of mark making.

The two hog hair paintbrushes are more suited to painting using thicker mediums such as oil paint. The strong, thick bristles of a natural Hog Hair paint brush can hold and distribute thick paint colours much more effectively than a softer grade hair such as sable. Both brush tip types are very versatile – perfect for large areas of colour mixing and gradients, but also able to lay down some degree of finer line, particularly if you turn the fan tip edge on when applying paint.
